GRRM couldn't write a happy ending if he was legally required to. Also this book is really weird. It's written in giant print with simplistic language, but it's also incredibly gory. It was just decent and definitely not worth the original cost of $17!!

I didn't understand this book at all, and it's geared towards children. Jesus H., I should go back to school.

Great little story! ♡ The writing style is breathtaking and very fairytale-ish. I would recommand this to any George R.R. Martin fan :)

What a strange book. It is a very quick read--only 107 pages of large font and pictures. It claims to be a YA book but I'm not sure. This dark tale of Adara would be lost on most of the YA audience.
This story is about a 7 year old girl whose mother died giving birth to her. We learn that she is a distant child who prefers to be alone. She loves the cold.
The story is very minimal but we learn of her fondness of an ice dragon. This fondness continues year after year as the dragon returns and gives her rides that last all day. After building this relationship it is stunning how the book ends. The abruptness of the ending is like a car wreck because it is mostly unexpected and totally unexplained.
I must say that I really wish I hadn't read this.
