I really loved Grace's writing style and characters, but the road trip only lasted about half the book. I think that made the story a little disjointed for me, hence 4 stars instead of 5. I definitely want to read more of her work, though.
This Was Cute!
This was a cute story. I am a sucker for a rom com and I know nine times out of ten, we get the “Will they won’t they?” in this genre but I really wanted more after I read 98% of the book! Mimi knows how to connect you with her characters!

cute lil book, nice symbolism, but for the love of God stop referring to a penis as a cock with black women
I loved this! The forced proximity road trip with an added mini-mystery in the beginning was hilarious! Jolene and Jason played off each other so well, and their witty banter had me grinning more times than I could count.
I also loved the focus on Jolene’s career and friendship with Yvonne post-road trip, and how there was so much more to her than just being a love interest. The humor, steam, and romance was perfectly balanced and kept me glued to the page. The only thing I was sad about was that Mark didn’t get his just desserts, but Jolene deserved more than to waste any more time on him than necessary, so that’s just the vindictive side of me talking.

After Jolene’s dad flaked on driving her sisters moving drunk to her new house across the country. Shes forced to take the 16 hour roadtrip with her sister’s husbands best friend Jason and they hate each other. After some unfortunate events their trip is delayed and have to stay at a motel with only 1 bed.
I loveddd this book it was really fun, quick, and easy read and kept me engaged in the story the whole time. Loved the banter and development between the characters from start to finish. Great side characters too.
I hated the simple misunderstandings between the characters that could’ve easily been solved with a lil communication but that’s literally every romance book it’s good for the plot.
Overall I think it’s a great book and I definitely recommend! This is the authors first book and I already added her other 2 books to my kindle can’t want to see how they compare
