I learned this was this author’s first book and as far as first books go this was fantastic! Very enjoyable, fun, short, easy read.
Loved that the whole book wasn’t the road trip that was a nice surprise, we got their normal lives afterwards.
Mimi’s books tend to be shorter but for their length I don’t find I’m lacking much depth, every sentence has a purpose, and I’m not reading unnecessary pages like in some other books.
I will say I feel like I didn’t really feel the *love* between the characters in this book. Like connection maybe, tension yes, friends even yes, but when love profession happened I was kinda like oh that was sooner than I expected.
I loved the premise of the book and the 3rd act wasn’t annoying, loved how the characters had their own lives and supported each other, wish we could’ve seen some of Jasons work, and slightly more of jolene’s just cause I found it interesting haha! We did get more of Jasons family though so I feel that balanced things maybe.

I finished this in a day. It was so cute! I loved the road trip aspect, and also loved that it didn’t take up the whole novel, but instead we left the road and watched Jolene and Jason’s relationship grow in real life. It was also so hot! And guys, THERE WAS ONLY ONE BED!! Never a disappointment!

This was good enemies to lover book. Jolene is a breath of fresh air everywhere she goes. While Jason is stickler that needs everything in proper order.

The conflict is stupid . The stopping at a racist gas station does not feel needed. I don’t want racism in my romance

The writing was a little different from her other books which I realized is because this was her first one (didn’t know before reading) so it was nice to see how she’s grown as an author. I liked the premise of the story but wasn’t fully invested in the characters relationship. I think they could’ve been developed more but again for her first book it was good.
