JoJo and Jason are the AAPI/BW couple I didn’t know I needed and shows the at we desire much more black/Asian romances in romancelandia. I loved the hot steamy tension between the two of them and how an ill fated road trip, sharing one bed, snd hot oral sex could bring two workaholics ,closer.

I really enjoyed this story. It was so great to see how Jolene and Jason's feelings for each other changed throughout the book. I loved their love story. Their banter was top notch too! Jolene's best friend, Yvonne, was great. Jason's mom and aunt were hilarious! Overall, this was a great story. My only complaint was how stubborn both Jason and Jolene were being towards the end of the book, but a little angst is necessary in every romance novel.

The first half of this book had a really great tension and incredible potential as a road trip romance. That all disappears about halfway through. The road trip ends, and then it’s a very generic friends with benefits to lovers situation. That alone would’ve gotten it a three, but then there was the wholly unnecessary secondary conflict. A man came between you and your money and you just… forgive him?? NAH

Loved it. I just wish we stayed longer with the couple past the resolution.

I seriously cannot get over how stunning Mimi Grace's covers are! That alone makes me want to read all her books. I wish all novels feature beautiful character art like her books do.

It wasn't the perfect 5 star read for me unfortunately. I didn't really enjoy the writing style, more specifically how the author kept switching between Jolene and Jason's perspectives multiple times during a chapter. It was like every other paragraph the author would pause to switch and not gonna lie, it was kind of annoying. I usually have no opinion on third person point of view versus first person, but I felt that in this case, the third person p.o.v. made what the characters were doing/experiencing come off as impersonal. It was also unclear who exactly was saying what- I think this book could've benefitted from an editor's touch to get those little issues squared away.

However, I did enjoy the story for what it was! The characters were great and the spice was aplenty. This is a short read that I feel anyone could enjoy. I don't regret reading this, just wish the editing was more fleshed out. I'd be open to reading more books by this author in the future though!

Cute enemies to lovers romance. I wanted more from the characters. Jason was a bit one note for me. I related to Jolene more. I thought the first 40% of the book was better than the last 60%. I wanted more from the chemistry between Jason and Jolene. I honestly couldn't connect to them as as couple. I felt like they had better chemistry as enemies. But overall a nice love story and loved that both main characters were POC.
