4.5 stars. Really enjoyed this story. Enemies to friends with benefits to lovers. There is a separation that annoyed me because the dude is saying “she rejected me” but it feels like he didn’t even articulate to her what he wanted. Just realized he wanted more and broke things off with her because “we don’t want the same thing”. Maybe it was bad editing but it felt like he didn’t even try. And he went out with another woman (just a couple of casual dates, but still) without even trying to talk to the heroine more seriously.

But… they are both so lovely and it worked out. So I’m going to forgive him and agree that I’ll love him too.

Nice epilogue with a marriage proposal. I felt like this couple did get to know each other. I just didn’t ever understand why a real relationship was off the table in the first place. But no one’s perfect!

I wish Goodreads had .5 scale, I gave this book a 4.5!!

I absolutely loved this book! The enemies to lovers, miscommunication trope, and the road trip bit was by far my favorite part of the book! It was sweet, sexy, and just overall a delightful read!
I also loved how short and sweet it was because we don’t always need the extra drama that comes with romance books these days.

S.N Jason is 1000% my new book boyfriend!!!

Along for the Ride is a slow-burn contemporary romance between a sassy younger lady and her brother-in-laws straight laced best friend. It is an enjoyable second chance romance highlighting diversity, including characters of colour in lead roles and a LGBTQ couple as the heroine's best friends. Mimi Grace filled this book with sexual tension and heat as well as an undeniable chemistry between the main characters.

From it's blurb you expect Along for the Ride to only tell the story of a enemy to lovers road trip, however this is just the beginning portion of this novel. The book starts as a road trip between enemies, evolved into a friends with benefits tale and finished with a opposite attracts love story. Jolene and Jason are like magnets who both pushed and pulled on each other depending on the situation. The characters did not however delve into their feeling until the final part of the book and so unfortunately sometimes came across as lacking depth.

Along for the Ride was an engaging contemporary romance that I would recommend for readers who enjoy contemporary romance, slow-burn, enemy-to-lovers, romance with diversity, opposites attract and road trip romances.

From the cover and the description I expected a road trip, enemies-to-lovers romance but that part ended up quickly (even if it touched all the stuff I like in the trope – forced proximity ftw!).
But the road trip finished quite soon and the rest was mostly during their daily lives, with an arrangement that I always enjoy in romances, especially when it backfires in *feelingssss*.
But Jason didn’t feel developed as much as Jolene, who I enjoyed very much, I found her very relatable and her development was really satisfying – so the fourth star is all for her.
I’ve had mixed feelings during the story because there were points I really liked
Spoiler(the moment of “sisterhood” against Mark that felt sooo goooood!)
but I felt the story didn’t deliver what promised and the development of their attraction –during the trip especially– hadn’t has much tension as I’d have worked for me. But having a female protagonist that feels real in her struggles is a big plus for my reading experience.

On a side note: too many J names. The protagonists were strange enough, but then there were two side characters with J names and it was confusing XD
Now I understand much better the tip to avoid characters with similar names, it’s easy enough when you’re the author, but as a reader it gets confusing quickly...

Such a cute read. I enjoyed reading this so much. I love enemies to lovers but I kinda wish the enemies part was a little longer in the story. Other than that it was a fun read.
