This was very cute. Such a quick and easy read. I like the slow burn of main characters relationship and how realistic it felt. I was disappointed in the fact that the road trip was only 1/3 of the book.

I will be checking out more of this author work.

This is what I mean by an easy read. Finished this book on a chill Sunday and it was just what I needed. Very loveable characters who have a little difficulty finally accepting their love for each other. I loved the incorporation of both characters’ culture and their community. Their family and friends made these characters even more authentic.

I was anticipating that the entire book would be about the road trip but I really liked that we got to see Jason and Jolene discover their relationship in their natural setting. I wouldn’t classify this as an enemies to lovers because they “hated” each other for about half a chapter and the majority of that took place prior to the events in the story. I will say that it was a very cute friends with benefits situation.

Overall I would definitely recommend if you want a chill romance with a Black woman getting loved on! Super excited to read the rest of this authors books!
