This Was Cute!
This was a cute story. I am a sucker for a rom com and I know nine times out of ten, we get the “Will they won’t they?” in this genre but I really wanted more after I read 98% of the book! Mimi knows how to connect you with her characters!

Along for the ride focuses on Jolene and Jason, two people who absolutely despise each other, who end up taking her sister's and his best friend's furniture across state to help them move homes.
This was such an easy, enjoyable, and fun read! I love the character of Jolene, who's fierce and smart, and brave. But hasn't always thought of herself in that way. However, I related the most to Jason, a man who strives for perfection, in every aspect of his life.
The romance was really cute, and I LOVE the enemies to lovers trope. I'm not the type of person who enjoys spicy, or sexual scenes in books, and although this book had quite a bit of the nasty pasty. I understand the reason why it was included, and enjoyed this book fully.
I like the characters, the plot is unique, memorable and original. I would highly, highly recommend it, especially to those of you who are stuck in a slump, as this book certainly cured mine.

This started off pretty good - the road trip was fun - but the second half really fell flat for me. I'm disappointed I didn't enjoy this one more.

I was very excited to read this book because I’ve enjoyed this author’s entire catalog and this book did not disappoint. This was the cutest read and I felt myself fully invested in their love story.

Listen, I LOVED Mimi Grace’s “Make a Scene.” So I love her as an author. She writes effortlessly diverse characters and settings. And her books have some great humor.
This one just wasn’t a favorite of her’s for me. I wanted a total road trip romance, but the roadtrip ended about 100 pages in. And when the roadtrip ended, it felt like Jolene and Jason’s chemistry died too. The tension was gone, or rather it was replaced with a “will they won’t they” and that’s just not a trope I’m a fan of. I loved the diversity and the growth that these two showed, but just wished for a bit more here.
Still I can’t wait to read more of Grace’s books, she’s a bright spot in this genre!
