Another interesting and informative book from mortician and death-positive author Caitlin Doughty. This one is aimed at kids and answers the questions they (and many adults) have about death and what comes after for the corpse. As per her usual style, Will My Cat Eat My Eyeballs is well-written, humorous, and straightforward. I love reading books by Caitlin Doughty. They are always fun, informative, and interesting especially because of the delicate yet straightforward way she hands taboo topics.

i love learning

I love Caitlin's YouTube channel AND her podcast with Sarah Chavez and Louise Hung (Death in the Afternoon), so this book was no exception. The book is full of questions that Caitlin (a mortician) has been asked by children and they are both deep and light-hearted. It was an interesting and entertaining read. Looking forward to reading her other books.

I enjoyed her first book, and picked this up.

For adults, adult-adults, I'd say this is a solid 3-4 stars, depending on how many questions you already know the answers to (and even if you know answers, you may not know backstory). For YA readers, I think it'd be well received. Her language is playful but not condescending, the language is gross but not obscene (rectum instead of ass, poo instead of shit, etc). I can see my 11yo ripping through this and sharing facts with her classmates.

I audiobooked this, and the author reads, which is great (she's a very lively and expressive reader). In fact, I would even suggest this to parents going on road trips with kids 7-up.

So as a parent, I give this book a solid five stars. It's also a great way to teach your kids more about death, without getting too serious. This should be in YA on library shelves.

This isn’t just for kids!! I definitely think this was informational, regardless of age! Love that the author narrated all of their books and has an astounding amount of knowledge and research material to share about “death houses” and corpse leakage

Each chapter is a well researched answer to a different question from a kid. The book was a lot of fun to read, both oddly heartwarming in its sincerity and a terrible choice for reading at lunch. Seems like the best way to read this would be with a kid, and then have fun with any follow up questions they may have.
