I like C.M. Nascosta's work a lot. What can I say? I like monsters. I thought it was cool that this book focuses on an unusual monster with a different anatomical situation going on than the usual. The premise for this book is absolutely bananas but I'm glad it stayed lighthearted and sweet.

I continue to enjoy the Cambric Creek series. Something about it is just so sweet and revs me up. Love a good monster romance and the voyeurism did NOT take awake from that. Spicy and a fun, fast-paced read.

CW graphic sexual content, emotionally abusive ex relationship, anxiety

🌟 Monster romance
🌟 Cinnamon roll hero
🌟 Mothman x Human

🌈 Anxiety rep

🌶 Exhibitionism/Voyeurism

Well if this wasn't the most adorable end to 2023 that I needed.

Our dear sweet heroine deserves to be protected at all costs. After fleeing an emotionally abusive relationship, she's bossing life and rebuilding herself, but keeps herself closed off to the idea of love (even though she's a massive horndog 🤣). Enter our cinnamon roll, socially anxious mothman. Yet another sweet previous bean who deserves the world.

The two of them made such a sweet couple with both their anxieties, just supporting and loving each other 😭

Also, in true CM Nascosta style, the spice remains spicing in every book they write 👀

The first entry in this series was pretty creative and fun, but this one had fewer engaging characters and the "mothman" love interest vacillated between various traits as if the author couldn't decide, so he ended up being kind of a non-entity. The main character's friends were mostly mean and it was hard for me to understand why she spent time with them. She also seemed to hate her job while claiming she loved it, which was confusing.

The concept of the outgoing human drawing the shy mothman out of his shell was cute, but not enough to save the story for me.

I don't mind insects, but I don't love them. I think the fact that the love interest was part moth also contributed to my distaste for this story.

Didn’t enjoy this as much as the first one in the series but still a solid book :)
