A little bit cheesy but with the right amount of fluff and fun. Light and fast read, exactly what I needed. I really did enjoy this.

This novel is very "tell" versus "show," especially when it comes to the MC's feelings. As for the MC, she is...dumb-ish. She's not completely an idiot, but also not very introspective beyond shallow self-observations. She approaches dating and her insta-crush on Owen in a very immature way. "Sure I'll date him! He's nice, funny, and cute." "Owen definitely thinks of me as just a friend. So I'll do nothing about our obvious mutual attraction. I'll just wait for stuff to happen to me!" BOR-ING. The novel begins with a very intersting world-building concept, and does a decent job at building an admirably unique "magic" world, but that's really all the novel has going for it. World-building dominates the initial plot, so that the end is rushed and, frankly, uninteresting. I just scanned the last few pages, which brought my rating down a star, from what I think of as "liked" to "didn't like", and right above "hate."

"Enchanted, Inc." by Shanna Swendson is a real gem. Utterly delicious!

"Enchanted, Inc." caught my eye when I was on an online shopping site looking at another book to purchase. On a whim I bought it and am so glad I did.

The story is set in the Big Apple and features the instantly lovable down-home Texas gal, Katie Chandler who is stuck in a dead-end job with a boss from hell. Boring, ordinary Katie Chandler.

But as it so happens, ordinary is just what is needed at MSI, Inc. (Magic, Spells, and Illusions, Inc.) And her life is about to be anything BUT boring!

This book is in a word, enchanting. It won't disappoint!

This book is really eh. I wouldn't really recommend it to anyone. I'm just trying to finish it.

The setup took some getting used to but once I bought into the premise, the story was cute. The author uses a little too much internal dialogue for Katie in order to establish what kind of person she is, since she can't talk to anyone about what's really happening in her crazy, suddenly magical, life. Hopefully, subsequent entries in the series will have less of Katie's internal musings and more action! I sense a love triangle (quadrangle?) brewing but I hope Swendson doesn't drag it out in an Evanovich-like way. An entertaining blend of chick lit and fantasy.

This was a pretty easy read.. The characters and plot are easy to follow. While it's a far cry from the likes of Dresden in terms of magical complexity, it made it a light read without the heavy magic intricacies!

definitely miss, mostly because i was expecting urban fantasy and it turned out to be chicklit with some generic magic thrown in, and i don't really like the genre. heroine oversells her 'oh i'm so boring and ordinary' spiel at the beginning and then, in a shocking twist, turns out exactly as boring and ordinary as advertised, in a sense that i couldn't remember anything about her after closing the book. plus the second repetition of 'omg my boss is so shy! yet dangerous! yet sweet! yet awesome! yet out of my league! but still!' had me gnashing my teeth already, and it's rehashed every second page and gets discussed with every other character in the book, sometimes twice or thrice. corporate magic plot was nice in itself, but not enough to make me want to continue the series.

This book is fun and engaging, Swendson creates a magical New York that’s inhabited by a great cast of characters that kept me hooked on the story.

Loved it. Anything that combines magic and chick lit is alright by me!
