I listened to Hannah narrate this on Libro.fm and was so glad I chose the audiobook over a physical book. This is a compelling and brutal, yet matter-of-fact memoir. I cried and winced throughout and yet never felt emotionally piled on. As someone also diagnosed with ADHD in adulthood, I really appreciated hearing Hannah’s perspective and description of their experience. I nodded a lot during that chapter.

For anyone who is a fan of Hannah’s work, especially Nanette, I highly recommend listening to this book.

I read the audio version, which I highly recommend. This book is a tour de force.

I have only seen snippets of Nanette (I really must seek it out) but I found this nostalgic, disturbing, funny, sad, fascinating, and helpful.

Fascinating insight into what it took for Hannah to write and perform Nanette, and how life got her to that point. She does an incredible job of explaining how her autistic brain works and how depression affects her. Feel very fortunate to have seen Nanette live in Melbourne and to have known her earlier work.
