Overall an interesting book. Probably the first book I read where it was a series of letters.
It definitely was a book for it's time, given what happens. I also think the writing is still relatively understandable given it was published in 1912.

Charming book about a young orphan who is provided an education through a wealthy benefactor. She must write to him in return. Her letters are filled with her insight into academia. a fun, light read.

بعد بضع صفحات ستجد أن الرواية تحولت إلى أدب رسائل وكان من أروع ما قرأت - أسلوب ظريف طفولي رقيق وطاهر - تشعر بمودة ونقاء قلب كاتبته لدرجة أنني في بعض المواضع كنت سأرفع صوتي بالنداء الأشهر "عظمة على عظمة على عظمة يا ست"

I used to think this story was so sweet when I read it first, but now I’m older… it’s kinda creepy.
Spoiler
The guy controls her whole life and tries to keep her from becoming independent. For example, he tries to keep her from seeing other guys by forbidding her from going on holiday to places he might be.
A short, heart-warming classic I've reread two or three times now.
