Reading this books after ready player one was a total mistake, all this nostalgia and excitement pilling up, my heart is going to explode !!! but i will still continue by reading the 3th books of harry potter so i can cry all night for my miserable childhood. But anyways back to the book which was an absolute delight !!
Its a story of judy aka jerusha abbott whos an orphan who lives in an asylum.she recieves a paid education to college from a mysterious gentleman in the condition that she keep sending him letters of her educational journey and life and wanting her to become a writer which is all the more reasons for me to love this story. Judy ends up calling him daddy long legs. So we follow judy on a series of letters of her telling daddy long legs about her life in college.
I absolutely loved the narration, being so found of hand written letters, and the general humor of judy. Even though i am not a girl and am not an orphan i found myself relating a lot to judy. It gave me a certain longing to throw everything aside and read books all day, writing stories and letters.( i am a sure that this all the effect of reading it after ready player one, i havent felt the joy of reading since a long time) And even though this is kind of a children book, i would recommend it for people to read it, a good deep breath from everything.

Just read it again and I still love it! More than ever! It's funny because now I'm noticing many elements in the story that would not be acceptable in today's world, but if we take into account when this book was written, and how Jean Webster herself was actively involved in women's suffrage and improvement in women's education during her time, this book and Judy Abbot as a character was ahead of their time, and that makes me love it more!

yes a bit patriarchal of course, but it's from 1912, so WHATEVER. nice to read.
This was lovely. It was entertaining and witty, the writing was really good and I enjoyed it thoroughly. I wasn’t expecting that ending though, I think I guessed it only right before it happened.
A sweet little book, predictable and I wish I could have read this for my English booklist at school.
