Not gonna lie, this one didn't do it for me. I love a**hole alphas and fun, high school plots. But this had a sinister mystery lurking that added something new to the usual stories. However...the characters and events didn't quite cut it for me.
A lot of "WTF?!" moments happen in the book...and then the mc acts like everything is fine a moment later. I'd understand if a lot of the things weren't horrifying, but the mc tries really hard to be too cool to be afraid, despite how serious things get. She irritated me a lot, actually.
The boys were okay, though I think they thought they were cooler and meaner than they actually were. That made it funny, but didn't quench my Alpha thirst. They would make commands but it was commandING if you know what I'm saying.
All that being said, though, the mystery was fun. I don't see myself getting the other books unless they become a part of KU because idk if it's quite worth the money right now, but I do think that if you'd like more of a mature YA than a dark NA, then this book may be for you!
Enjoy.

Any Amo is AMAZING!
Salivating and ready to continue this story! I read this in one sitting because I couldn't put it down. It's been on my TBR since May and I'm so mad I didn't read it sooner!

Ja was soll ich sagen?

I enjoyed this book but I'm not a big fan of duologies, trilogies, etc... I'm all for interconnected series but when a book ends on a cliffhanger I get a bit ragey. I should have been more mindful of seeing what the series was about when I picked this book up.
If you like duets, etc and dark romance I do think you will like this book though

What. Did. I. Just. Read?
This was a rollercoaster of clues and mystery and I got sucked in... the type of book I couldn’t put down- even when I found myself saying out loud “what does this mean” (too many times to count).
And yet I’m still wondering- what the heck did I just read? And what the heck does any of this means... whelp on to book 2 and hopefully I will get some answers.

Found myself forcing to finish this. I'm not entirely sure why but 5☆ rating still for the amazing read
I dunno how I feel about this, there was some great things I liked and some I did not.
Well then, OK... really unpopular opinion here.
This book had so much potential but at the end of the day the delivery was just horrible, absurd and just plain embarrassing.
While the characters certainly engaged in adult activities, they acted so immaturely. I know they were in high school but I thought their behaviour and reasoning or lack thereof was just a little too ridiculous.
The intrigue and the mystery in this book got REAL OLD REAL FAST because it didn't lead anywhere and it felt like a lot of drama was thrown into this story JUST to have drama but did not end up having any point.
Sorry but this just did not work for me.

Ahhhh, my guilty pleasure! There is nothing that does it for me more than a book full of twists and turns and a dark plot! And reading the dedication had me right where Amo Jones wanted me - hook, line and sinker!
"To stories that fuck you so good you'll need a cigarette.
This is one of those stories."
There was so much promise right from the beginning and I was truly itching to get this story started. And then.... the story started.
Were some of the events problematic? Yes.
Did I care? No.
Was it always believable that these were 17-year-old imposing this much havoc? Not really. But that's okay!
The twists/turns of this book were great. I'm usually able to predict the next events or the 'grand reveal' ahead of time, but this kept me on my toes the entire read! Which is probably what kept me pushing through...
Let’s start with the major problems I had with The Silver Swan.
1. Editing. There were too many grammatical issues for me to look past at time. I would find myself re-reading sentences just to make sure that I wasn’t losing my mind and reading them incorrectly. But without fail, it was just an oversight on the author/editor for making sure that there were minimal errors.
2. Storyline. As much as I loved the twists/turns, the events were all over the place. I found myself struggling to understand how we ended up where we were. Major twilight zone.
3. Friendship. The friendship of the Kings in this story is well written. You don’t fully understand why they have the loyalties to each other. But… the friendship with Tatum, Madison and Tillie? Yeah, I didn’t care. I didn’t buy into it and there truly wasn’t enough building of their relationship for me to give a shit that Madison had friends. I mean major fail especially with getting me to buy into the ending of this story.
Here's to hoping Amo Jones capitalizes on the second book!
