Witty, easy, cute read

Coming in under 200 pages, it’s a short book. I dislike the abrupt cliffhanger. It seemed like an unnatural way to draw out the romance into a trilogy.

That being said, I enjoyed the writing style. As an American reader, some British phrases threw me off, but in a quirky lighthearted fashion.

Hooked!

Piper Lawson knows how to write a book that will always leave you wanting more. If you only bought the first book in this series, go back and get the rest IMMEDIATELY! You don’t want to waste a second going to look for the next one, you’ll want to instantly dive into the next without a second in between

Beautiful Enemy
The Enemies Trilogy Book 1
By Piper Lawson
Narrated by Shane East and Samantha Brentmoor

Piper Lawson, I am in love with the way you write! This is the beginning of Rae and Harrison's story, and it's fantastic! We met Rae in the Rebel's series, and now we get a look into her life. She is working on fixing her reputation as a DJ, always changing her look and enjoying that chance to hide herself. Harrison is the man who has created this mess. And now he is going to make her life even worse. Making a deal to honor her contract, help her roommate and repair her life, Rae moves into Harrison's house and is working to make his nightclub a success. What these two find though is flawed souls that together may be the healing that they need. But in true Lawson style, life is never easy. Harrison's past is interfering with his life, both personally and professionally and wounds are reopened. Rae is quite a character. I love her individuality and ambition. She is a fantastic friend, and a need to stand for what is right. Harrison is unexpected. A billionaire, he definitely carries himself high, but he is just a man, and it's refreshing to get to know him. The cliffhanger is enough to make me scream at the top of my lungs looking for the next part of this amazing series. Bring it on!

Add to that the narration team! Samantha Brentmoor is Rae, edgy and full of attitude. She can be mouthing off in one breath and seamlessly change to a soft emotional woman. Love her man voice too! Shane East carries that air of importance as Harrison, but his flaws and pain are evident in his voice. This pairing is perfect for this trilogy and I can't wait to hear more.

A nice story, however it's one that ends abruptly when it's just picking up the plot, the first actual sex scene is right before the end of the book, so if you like more than that then you may want to look elsewhere. Overall it kept me interested enough that I read it in a day.

The narrators really made this story!

I loved that Rae was a hard working artist and steadfast in her beliefs. Harrison pushed all her buttons because he had the wrong idea about the kind of person she was, how quickly Rae changed his mind.

The push and pull between the main characters had the right amount of tension and lust. As things develop and heighten I found myself really wanting them to get together. This is a bit of a slow burn but the burn pays off with wonderfully steamy, passion filled scene.

There are a lot of elements in this with their backstory that comes into play with their relationship but as this is a trilogy, I feel there is quite a bit more to explore in the next books.

I swear Piper Lawson can’t write a bad book! I devoured this book in about 12 hrs and that is in between working and home life. Hot British millionaire and a sassy DJ hell ya!

Rae and Harrison's story is intriguing, I am having so much fun hearing to this audiobooks narrated by Shane East and Samantha Breitmoor, who did a fantastic performance portraying their characters, the production was overall good, can't wait to listen to the next ones. As for the story, the plotline has me hooked, it started a bit slow, but then it picked up, having Rae as being a DJ is refreshing and original, I really liked the idea.
