I absolutely loved the first 90% of Written in the Stars! It’s a delicious sapphic romance with all the good stuff—opposites attract, fake dating, and soulmate vibes—and Darcy and Elle make such a fantastic pair of main characters. The pacing of the buildup was spot on, with plenty of swoon-worthy moments that had me fully invested. For most of the book, it was shaping up to be a solid 5-star read.

That said, the ending didn’t quite land for me. Darcy’s well-meaning brother, Brendon, reveals something about her past to Elle that really should’ve come from Darcy herself. It felt like a breach of trust, and it kind of knocked the emotional arc off balance. Then the reconciliation between Darcy and Elle was squeezed into the final chapter, which felt rushed after all the beautiful buildup. I know they appear in the next two books, but I think Written in the Stars would have really benefited from a proper epilogue to wrap things up more satisfyingly.

Still, a super enjoyable read overall, and one I’d definitely recommend!

This super-cute contemporary set in Seattle has the cutest text conversations, a romantic brother who constantly interferes, a best friend who knows to bring 4 different kinds of Ben & Jerry's to a breakup, a sexy actuary and a rainbow glitter thrift shop kind of girl whose successful family doesn't approve of her life choices.

Darcy & Elle do not have a meet-cute first date, but they do feel a spark of attraction. Both of them are under pressure from family to find *the one* so they set up a fake relationship for the holidays. Of course, neither one really counted on falling so hard for each other.

There's some steamy encounters, a lot of rhapsodizing about each other's skin and hair, and a lot of biting lower lips, but this is a fun, breezy, empowering kind of romance with witty banter.

Absolutely adorable story. It’s basically sapphic Pride and Prejudice.
