Charming, sweet, perhaps a bit predictable, but a wonderful queer rom com that makes me look forward to what else this writer produces! So glad my public library bought this.

I would give it 3.75 stars. I listened to the Audiobook and Lauren Sweet was great specially as Margo and Darcy.

Written in the Stars by Alexandria Bellefleur tells a classic story of opposites attracting: a grumpy character and a sunshine character. Elle, the sunshine, has the ability to brighten anyone's day, so it was only a matter of time before Darcy, the snarky grinch, would fall for her.

While I wasn't personally invested in the astrology aspect, which played a significant role in the story, it didn't hinder my overall enjoyment. The book was endearing and provided an easy ride until the end. The only thing I wasn't quite fond of was the author's tendency to write dialogues as text messages.

Although most readers would easily fall for Elle and her sunny personality, I found myself loving Darcy and her transformation. It was inspiring to see her learn to forgive herself after Natasha and finally understand what Elle had been trying to show her all along. As someone who appreciates sarcasm, I couldn't help but have a soft spot for Darcy.

Overall, Written in the Stars by Alexandria Bellefleur is a charming romance that explores the dynamics of two contrasting characters. Despite my minor gripes, I thoroughly enjoyed the book and would recommend it to fans of the genre.

dnf - i could not get attached to/connect to either of the two main characters. i'm usually a sucker for fake dating but it comes with just about every fake dating cliche in the book.

i could not be convinced at any point that these two liked each other on any level other than physical.

other than that, it dragged and i had a hard time staying focused or engaged with this book. a lot of the writing felt like filler that made me just want to skim through the book.

I was... disappointed in this, considering the rave reviews. It was the third book I read in the latter half of the week while sick and stuck at home, and it was definitely enjoyable enough to get through. But it didn't strike me in any other way.

The overall plot (with fake dating, skeptic x dreamer, and sapphic romance) had great potential. I liked Darcy a lot. I found Elle mostly very sweet. But I couldn't handle the level of astrology in this book, nor the extremely millennial way of speaking, nor how the two often tied together. I say this as a millennial. I couldn't handle it. I also couldn't handle the most contrived (view spoiler) I have ever read. It was unbelievable and unrealistic and really disappointing after the more fun parts of the book had things looking up for me!

The smut was good. There were some very sweet scenes. That's about it.

1. Extremely forced chemistry in the begging
2. Elle was a pick me
3. They gave us nothing at the end bsfr

idk why i keep trying these canva-cover romance novels when all of them read like people trying to out-cheugy each other. and i'm a millennial. my breaking point was the argument about hogwarts houses. why should i read this book when the author clearly won't read another one.
