I ran into many reading blocks while reading this book if I'm going to be honest. But the book actually addressed a lot of things about the STEM field in respect to women and I love that. The topic wasn't sugar coated, it wasn't glossed over, it was a recurring topic in the book, but it was also the subtle things that were highlighted. I also liked how the book didn't have the main character have everything spelled out for her and it actually felt like a teenaged girl trying to figure out her life, which was very relatable.

Thank you NetGalley for the arc of this book!
This book first attracted me because of its beautiful cover but the book itself didn't disappoint at all.
To be honest when I first read the plot I didn't think I'd enjoy it that much because I don't know a thing about robotics and I wasn't good at math or science in high school but that was not the case! All the characters are so enjoyable and relatable in their own ways. The main relationship is not forced and while I wouldn't call it slowburn, it wasn't insta-love either which I absolutely loved; it had perfect pacing. The friendships and relationships between teachers and students are precious as well.
My other notes about this book:
- As a person that didn't even like high school that much reading this book made me miss it so bad.
- I love seeing girly, bubbly personalities as main characters when it is written & portrayed right and I think I wouldn't be wrong if I described Bel that way. It made me so happy through the book that she is a bubbly person but not immature at all (which may be the case sometimes but it wasn't in this book so no worries). Also I loved her fashion style and her room so much.
- The Taylor Swift references>>>
- Women in STEM. That's it. That's all there is to say.
This was such a cute, feel-good book and I definitely think it is worth reading.
P.S. I saw people describing this book as "Rivals to Lovers" and while they are rivals, it doesn't last very long. That's all!!!<3

"and i know that win or lose, teo luna and i are made of a strong foundation. what he and i have together is the best thing we've ever built."
This book was a duosy, a cute dousy but a dousy none the less.
I expected Cutesy Romance book and ingot that but more, like the commentary on the difficulty of being a girl in male domanited spaces.band how boys even without being openly hostile can still be part of the problem.
I still loved Bel and Teo relationship tho.
Also loved the writing but what can I expect from my favourite writer.

I'm not normally one to read YA books, but this one piqued my curiosity - and I'm glad it did!
The story itself seemed to never really take off for me, but then again I also found myself not wanting to put it down, which is a bit of a weird mix, but it just added to the book's charm.
I found the story to be very believable overall, though I did find that some elements might have been a bit of a stretch, or at least developed more quickly than I would have expected.
Things I liked:
* I really enjoyed the premise of the book. Women in STEM are, in my opinion, becoming more common, however, there were, and continue to be, real struggles for not only acceptance, but recognition as well. This is true not only of their male peers, but of other women in the fields as well. The story contained elements of both and did a great job of portraying the difficulties and barriers while not focusing too heavily on this theme.
* The way everything seemed to be going "wrong" for Bel. How she ended up in the robotics club. The hardships she had to endure, the realistic obstacles she had to deal with, her perseverance and how things ended up in a very positive place for her.
* Bel and Teo's opposing views and how those came together to form a positive effect on one another.
* Being privy to the inner thoughts of both Bel and Teo.
* All the extra on-the-side stuff that happens in "real life".
* The humour that was used throughout.
Things I didn’t like:
* How quickly the rapport between Bel and Teo improved from rivals to love interests. I feel like things should have developed over a longer period of time.
* I feel like parts of the story might be "too mature" for the younger end of the YA spectrum.
All in all, this was a satisfying read, and I would recommend it to anyone with an interest in romance novels, or even an interest in the challenges today's teens must face.
A special thanks to @netgalley for an advanced digital copy in exchange for my honest review.
