I normally find true crime interesting but honestly, I found this such a slog (which is weird considering I listened to the audiobook and the inherent nature of the book) and it took me like 2 weeks to finish. I just wish there was more of the podcast.

I finally read Sadie!! I cried, tons :(

pls check out my blog for all my depressive thoughts after reading this throat-punch of a book lol

Well..... That was a wild fucking ride.

The audiobook was so good!

Wow. A great gritty af YA novel! I did this on audio because of the format that half the book is a podcast about Sadie's disappearance and it is interspersed with her own narrations of what's actually happening.

The book was brilliant. Great writing and an exceptional format.

But the audio... they got some real stinkers to do some of the voices. However both Sadie and the podcast host were fine, and they are 90% of it so I looked past the horrific voice acting and unmatched voices to their descriptions.

I really wanted to like this. The premise was so interesting and the juxtaposition of the podcast host and Sadie’s voice really hooked me in at first. The full cast for the audiobook was beautifully done. However, I had some issues with it

There were a lot of loose threads in Sadie’s personal story, and I would’ve liked a more concrete ending. I felt like Sadie’s story was really short and that not a lot happened over the course of the book. It would’ve been interesting to see the before part of her journey, like what pushed her to leave months after Maddie’s death.

The mystery of this isn’t really there like I thought it would be. We basically know what happened and who did it from the beginning. I think this book was a good idea but not executed well.

I did like certain friendly characters she met along the way, but again, they weren’t fleshed out enough to me.

Wow!!! This book was so good and definitely surprised me! I am not usually a fan of YA books but this one just hit differently. I picked this up because i am filming a video for my youtube channel and it was recommended to me by a friend for that video!

I HIGHLY recommend the audiobook! This is one of the best audiobooks i have listened too! Half of
this book is told through a podcast, and half is told from the perspective of Sadie. The audiobook has a full cast of narrators and it is just done SO well! The full cast narration makes you feel so immersive in the story!

I would highly recommend this book but only if you can read it as it has quite a few trigger warnings.

I went into this book blind not reading the synopsis which is not like me so i was so surprised about what this book was about but i feel like going in not knowing anything made my experience with this book better.
