"The Glass House" follows 3 female narrators - Rita, Sylvie & Hera - both in the past and present and their hazy relationship to the property Foxcote Manor.

We are introduced to the circumstance that they have in common early on, but at first it just seems to show the main storyline from different perspectives. Gradually over the course of the story the mystery is unravelled and meshes together in a wonderful way.

The final twist in this tale was totally unexpected and I loved it. I did not see it coming at all and I really enjoyed how thinking back through the story you can see tell tale signs, but it never eludes to anything more than disapproval.

I would highly recommend this to anyone who enjoys Kate Morton!! Blending mystery, gothic settings and historical fiction over various timelines with beautiful descriptions that put you right in the heart of the story. Looking forward to see what else Eve Chase writes.

Needed an audiobook and this one was available. I had a hard time focusing on the early party, but it got better as it went along.

This has SO much more potential. It was very easy to read, I didn’t want to put it down but the ending fell flat. The writing felt two dimensional, like the author was too scared to let the readers do the work. Everything ended up turning out juvenile instead of matured. A happy ending is nice but this just felt false, we could have had the same ending but with a bit more bite, a more realistic and heart rendering sense of serendipity but nagh, it was just not there.

THE DAUGHTERS OF FOXCOTE MANOR ticked all my favorite reading boxes: Gothic vibes, family secrets, atmospheric setting, interesting characters, etc. It's an engrossing novel with a strong sense of place, well-developed characters, and a plot that kept me turning pages. I loved Rita, although I wasn't as enamored of Sylvie. Still, they're both relatable, sympathetic characters whose voices kept me engaged in the story. While I guessed some of the book's plot twists, there were others that surprised me. Overall, then, I found this novel to be a compelling, satisfying read.
