It’s hard to believe that 48 books into a series and it’s still so fresh! This one started out a lot different than all the others and I spent the first few hours nervous about what was to come. No need for my nerves! I will keep listening to this series until I can’t get anymore and I hope that’s a long way to go. As usual, the narrator does a fantastic job. And, personally, I found the chimes annoying between chapters. I’m not sure how long it lasted throughout the book because I managed to block them out.

Writing was good, just not my style. Unnecessary profanity. The world-building was a little off; used contemporary references interrupted by futuristic elements. That took me out of the story. Interesting characters.

I listened to the audiobook and the narrator did a good job.

Another solid installment to this series, with at least one very "Awwwwww" moment when Eve and Roarke express their gratitude to each other for providing each other emotional support and encouraging each other to be better people. I wish that more books with romances, whatever their genre/subgenre, portrayed more of this type of love, not just eye-rolling instalove and infatuation agony before the HEA.

The first time I've not read a Dallas story on release day - this one just didn't catch for me, and I don't know why!

In this entry, Eve and the crew takes on gangs. Excellent story - more development into characters (Crack makes another appearance) and more detail on what happens after the arrest.
