Ok, so I was about 75% of the way through this book thinking “meh… it’s ok. I don’t understand the pen pal aspect. Also, this is clearly in parts and we’re still in part 1?” - honestly, I was kind of disengaging. And then… the supernatural element hit!
At first, I was like uhh… I don’t know about this ghost angle. How are they going to resolve this in 2 hours? And then… sixth sense hit and Kayla became Bruce Willis!
I read so much, it’s hard for a book twist to come unexpected but I was not expecting this one.
I wanted ti cry when we got to part 3 and she finally answered the door to Aiden and was able to pass on and the haunting of her stupid ex husband was funny
Give this one a go and have an open mind. As always, the spice is spicy but it is not what I was expecting from Giessinger!

So I’m not sure where to start….

So I’ll say this. The marketing is not what the book was about, I’ll agree with that on other reviews, but with that being said, this book was stunning to me.

The ending doesn't even make me shock to my core. Like what the fuck?

Holy shit, what a ride.  Loved the story, characters & plot.

I loved it..... Oh god, I somehow felt like something was missing it, it reminded me of a supernatural series.
Ever since the ghosts appeared, I questioned everything and every character that appeared in the story as if they were not real, and as I expected, it happened, I loved it so much.
Also.. The novel reminded me of Dean and Sam, as if I was waiting for them to appear somehow, just kidding. The novel was very exciting and suspenseful.

Holy crap this book was so good! At first I was like yeah this seems like your average romance book but that ending totally took me by surprise! And the banter was top notch too. Highly recommend.

Whew this was quite a read. The cover ≠ plot, that’s for sure. Took some points off due to the first 75% of the book being largely smut based as the FMC navigates the grief of losing her husband and moving on, then the final 25% of the book is an insane plot twist, a ton of info being thrown at you at once, while answering every question and loose end that happened previously. The pet names like “bunny” and “master” were so cringe. Would’ve loved to see an epilogue of Kayla and Aiden enjoying the afterlife more.

I went into this kind of blind. It's been on my TBR for about 2 years. I wish I had read it sooner! Definitely check your TW, but it was such a good read. I went in thinking it was a dark romance like Haunting Adeline, but I honestly wouldn't even call it that. I'd say it's more of a paranormal/ suspense/ romance with LOTS of good spice.
