Y'all have been HYPING this up and I just had to see what everyone was on about.
But I have to be honest, I hated the main female character and her dry a$$ sense of humor. She came off as dumb as a rock the entire time.
I found the banter and how quickly they started with the dirty talk and smut to be wildly unbelievable and kind of cringe.
The mfc comparing the guys- like weight of them on her-was kinda grossing me out.
There were A LOT of smut scenes, and they felt long, repetitive, and not really necessary in such lengths- and I usually like smut so ...
I hated the pet names SO much it almost made me quit reading.
There were some parts that were just too over the top for me to enjoy.
However, I did like the twist!
I had put some pieces together but not all of them, which made it fun to keep guessing.
The VERY ending was a bit 🧀
Idk. This was kind of a 3✨️ read most of the way through, but I liked the twist enough to bump it up a half point.
I would say this is a good September read.

Great plot, no really, it has a great story! It is super spicy. Some of the spice felt a little unnecessary (I never thought I would ever say that), but overall great read.

This was Kayla and Aiden's story It was super hot and slightly kinky and a mystery full of questions highly erotic and one full of paranormal activity. There are a lot of reviews with different opinions on this story they either loved it or hated it but, I was one of the ones who loved it. I think redefining what genre this story belongs in might help with that.
One of the reasons I loved this story so much is the fact that Aiden and Kayla belonged together their chemistry was off the charts fated for one another. The way Aiden was with Kayla was beyond endearing. The sexy super hot dom/sub feel to them some even fan-worthy. Perfect for one another in every way.
This story was not like anything I thought it was the mystery, suspense, and unexplained paranormal ongoings that surrounded Kayla that were intriguing and kept you guessing but, the twist this story took was an OMG! moment. I would never have guessed the plot twist not in a million years. I am not sure what we were feeling at the moment it happened but, one thing we did feel was we were filled with sadness and horror so much so we wanted to cry then another plot twist presented itself and then we felt devastated for the characters involved.
As the story plays out we are more intrigued than ever. I found myself laughing out loud throughout the story. The witty banter was awesome! The side characters were fantastic. Nothing is what it seems with this plot which made it all the more addicting. I loved it! The pen pal aspect of this story drew us to read this story in the first place and we are glad we downloaded the audiobook the narrator of this story was utterly perfect. A perfect blend of emotions, love, loss, heartache, pain, self-discovery, and healing.

Wasn’t the prison-out of prison romance I was expecting. Teared up by the end; the ending was a bit abrupt… wish it had been drawn out a bit more/ maybe a different conversation. But the bonus epilogue was sweet.
