This was a really quick cozy mystery (took about an hour to read). Barbara's character of a bored 70-year-old ex-CIA agent in a sleepy New England town was cute. I look forward to reading more of these in the series as a kind of palate cleanser.

Barbara Gold is an ex-CIA agent who has retired to a small New England town. Her life is boring until a member of her book club drops dead during a meeting. She investigates, turns out it was Evon, a lady in the book club, who poisoned him with toxin from the pufferfish at the pet store. She did it because this guy was nice to all the ladies but rejected their advances (he was married). They were all lovesick, and she thought it would be better for everyone if he was dead.Thoughts

Enjoyed more than I thought I would, especially the grandson. But I wish more had been said about *D* settling into her new home.
I thought this would be a short silly fun story about an ex secret agent turned grandma, but instead it was just terrible. The mc was incredibly annoying, self absorbed, judgmental, and sexist. She frankly ruined the story. The plot was also predictable and ridiculous but I was ready for that. I would say skip this one
