OKAY OKAY. I'm finally done. And...yes. That ending was PERFECT. And I don't mean the whole entire book––because it had it's ohmygodcantwejustmoveon moments–– I mean the last five pages were just so emotional, and resolving. I mean giving Clancy that act of mercy, and then how she said they were all driving into the open road I almost cried because that's how Jude said the after light was.
LIAM AND RUBY ARE OTP IN THIS BOOK ESPECIALLY.
I CALLED CHUBS AND VIDA.
WE WERE MISSING NICO IN THE LETS-GET-LOST CAR RIDE.
COLE MY DARLIN'.
SHIT WE GOT FREEDOM AT LAST.
Okay I really shouldn't be able to write reviews––because this is what happens.

The Darkest Minds is one of my all-time favourite trilogies, but as I’m sure you all know, the final book can really make or break a series. *cough* Allegiant. *cough* I was kind of terrified to read this one. This series really means a lot to me and I absolutely adore it and all of the characters. I didn’t want it to be terrible, and so I put this off for ages. I really didn’t have to worry, because this was phenomenal.
From the moment I entered this world, I loved it. Back when I started this series I was very heavily into YA dystopian and a lot of them just sort of mixed together, but this always stuck out. I like the darkness in dystopian world, and I especially love this one because of the fact that it could have me terrified and crying one page and then laughing my head off by the next page. I also loved that there was a sort of supernatural/superpower element to the story as well – it just really made it stand out to me.
The best thing, of course, is the characters. If you’ve been here a while or if you followed my updates on Goodreads while I was reading this, then I’m sure you’re aware of my love for Liam and Chubs. These two honestly made the series for me – I love their bromance, and how different they are from one another in a way that just totally works. They are probably my ultimate friendship – that’s how much I love them. In this book, they are honestly just as amazing, if not even a little better than in the previous two books. Anyway, let’s talk about some of the other characters. Ruby is brilliant, and she’s grown so much throughout the trilogy. In fact, all of the characters have grown and changed and I just feel like a proud mum because I want to snuggle them all. There were even a few characters that I didn’t think I cared about that ended up completely blowing me away.
You know what almost ruined me? The Liam/Ruby relationship in this book. I can’t even begin to describe the feels. If you’ve read The Darkest Minds (and Never Fade) then you probably understand. If you haven’t, well, ‘bumpy’ doesn’t even begin to describe them. There were times where I honestly couldn’t breathe because they weren’t happy and I needed them to be. I actually had to put the book down a few times so I could walk around my room and scream at them to work it out before I killed them. I’m a little too invested in this ship.
I’ll admit that this book isn’t perfect. The whole trilogy can be a little slow in parts. There’s a lot of world building and character driven events that tend to slow down the story, but I just love them so much that I don’t mind slugging through those bits to get to the good parts. I know this turns a lot of people off the series, but they really are worth giving a go. So despite those slow bits, I really liked the plot of this one. I think it ended really well and I just loved how everything was tied up.
It’s just hit me that this series is over. There won’t be any more Ruby and Liam moments to gush over, or any more Chubs quotes to laugh at. I feel kind of hollow inside now. What am I supposed to do now? Suppose it’s time for a re-read!

Y así como así, terminé the darkest minds trilogy.....
Ay Dios. Ay Dios. Me encantó.
Y ZU REAPARECIENDO
Y ZU HABLANDO
Y ZU QUERIENDOSE TEÑIR EL PELO DE ROSA
Y RUBY TENIENDO QUE VOLVER A THROUMOUNT O LO QUE SEA
Y LIAM Y RUBY SIENDO LINDOS CON EL OTRO
Y COLE MURIENDO
Y COLE DEJANDO DE EXISTIR
Y LA MUERTE PEDORRA E INNECESARIA DE COLE
Y YO AMO A COLE STEWART
Y AMO A LOS STEWART'S
Y AMO COMO LE DECÍA JOYITA
Y SIEMPRE VAN A SER 'WHAT COULD HAVE BEEN' EN MI CORAZÓN
Y ESTUVE ESPERANDO AUNQUE SEA UN CHAPE ENTRE COLE Y RUBY
Y IGUAL ESTOY FELIZ QUE NO PASÓ
Y A LA VEZ TRISTE
Y TERMINÓ DIVINO
Y TERMINÓ HORRIBLE
Y PUDO HABER TERMINADO MUCHO MEJOR
Y ME HIZO MUY FELIZ TODO
Excelente. Amé la historia. Amé los personajes. Definitivamente una de mis trilogías favoritas.

This was a satisfying ending and everything was wrapped up nice. The culmination of all the books was awesome and all the characters got what was coming to them.
Just 1 word: Cole... The FELLs The FELLs!!! This book was a holler costers of emotions. It was perfect this was one of the best endings ever.
It's really hard to see an author who can wrap up a series so perfectlly but she did it and left the fellings that wasn't a happy ending it was life: bad things happends as well as god things and there is always gonna be a problem but nothing that can't be fixed.
But Cole Holly Molly OMG he is just the best My favorite ever. If you'vee read this book them you must be thinking but what about...? And my awnser I'm ignoring it. It's totally relative so when I read it againg nothing will have changed ther for it never happened Okay?!?!?! Just leave me alone!!!

It took me FOREVER to read this book but that does not it wasn’t absolutely amazing!! I hate long chapped in books, but I can see why Alexandra does it; there is just so much detail in every scene! I could literally make a movie with every page because of how descriptive it is. And it ended soooo perfectly. I love it.
A very good conclusion to the original trilogy, and I can see why and how this can be expanded on so I hope that the next one which just came out, does just that!
I really enjoyed this whole series as it reminded me of books I loved a few years ago and gave me those feelings now.
4/5

Great conclusion to the series! So many questions were answered but it dod leave me with many more. Wasn't my favourite if the series but it was still emotional and engaging! Read my full review on my blog https://noreadstoogreat.wordpress.com/2017/08/17/book-review-in-the-afterlight/
the middle-ish part of this book dragged on a little but the ending is definitely worth it (who’s cutting the onions, it’s been a few days and i’m still in PAIN)
i personally skipped over The Darkest Legacy bc i’ve heard mixed feelings on it and i was happy where this book ended the story, i thought it was unnecessary to open it up again
