More like 3.5 stars. Something I discovered while reading this, is that I actually don't like Ruby. I just feel like she blames herself for everything. Literally. "Someone's puppy died." Ruby: it's my fault oh no! I JUST CAN'T.
On another note, Liam is the freaking best! Also the only thing I like about Ruby, is her and Liams relationship. THEY ARE SO CUTE.
Zu is awesome too.
OKAY THAT'S IT!

so, what have we learned? liam stewart is the absolute best character in this series and cole stewart got a bit of a bad rap. justice for the stewart brothers asap pls
A little slow at first, but overall really good. Cole! =;( That was so sad!
Perfect conclusion of the series! I’ll admit, the beginning is a bit slow but the rest is amazing! You really get to see the characters grow in this book and show their strengths. The relationship between characters is a rollercoaster but there are some really heartwarming moments, and the ending is great!
Spoilers below,
I'm sad to say the story is very anticlimactic, in books 1 and 2 you are traveling with the characters and the action was actually happening. In The Afterlight, you are stuck in one central place for the first 300 pages. The only action we see out of the central place is short and not even really an action scene. I don’t see much character growth in the first 300 pages, and the little bit we get is from Ruby and only Ruby.
The action and leaving the compound we do get is from other characters which we see nothing of since the book in Ruby’s POV only. It would have been better if we got to have different POVs. Through all of this book, Ruby does nothing, whereas in the first 2 she was apart of everything. There were so many scenes we heard about; the relationship that developed between Vida and Chubs I would have loved to it, not to mention Liam and Cole's mission were he died. I felt they brushed over his death, everything happened so fast after that and we didn't get a chance to see anyone really grieve.
Liam and Ruby break my heart in this book.
My favorite part of this whole book is page 350. I felt so happ

i couldn't finish this book. the 350 pages i read was just exposition, and the exposition was USELESS. there was no development and it was mildly entertaining at its finest
