LOVED. I think it was the found love and chosen family that really grabbed my heart in this one. So so good.

Maybe it was because I had really loved “Tin Man”, but I was disappointed by this book. I found the narrative style really grating, and if it hadn’t been for (some) characters, I don’t think I would have sticked with it. There were parts I liked more than others, and overall the setting and the theme of found family was well chosen, but ultimately this didn’t quite work for me.

Winman restores my faith in humanity with this tender examination of friendships and love during and after the war.
I loved this so much while cycling around Tuscany. It was a wonderful recommendation.
Think this might be one of the most beautiful books I've ever had the fortune to read. Bravo.
I struggled to get into this at first. It’s heavy on dialogue. The dialogue is often short/quick and flips back and forth between characters. No speech/quotation marks. A bit of an adjustment when you begin reading. But once you get your head around it, it’s a wonderful story brimming with energy and excitement for life.
I really want to watch a BBC series based on this book
