I think that the first few pages of the book were a little hard to get past. Once some of the action started after about 100 pages, the book flew by. I think at first I was a little frustrated with Bettina's character, but I was definately happy with the book and with the ending. This as the first book that I had read by this author and will read more by here.

It was a fun, quick read. Adult content. Some interesting tournament action. I have not read the IAD series but this stems from that series. The lore is interesting. A good piece of PNR.

ooooooh, I really enjoyed this!! I read the second half of this book in a day. I was hooked within the first few pages and the last few chapters had me yelling at my kobo. I was berating Bettina in the annotations the entire time for fumbling the bag so bad.
I'm docking 0.5 star because some parts made me cringe a bit, especially as a jeweler and raver, myself. Also for the first couple chapters I thought Bettina and Caspion were actually brother and sister and almost DNF'd -- they in fact, are not related, much to my relief.
Great balance between plot and smut, imo. I really enjoy the lore the Cole has built for the vampires in this world. All in all, I think this was well written and I look forward to reading more of this series.

BRILLIANT!!! I expected nothing less from this genius author and she definitely maintains her high standards! The plot was super-exciting,tension - mind-boggling, romance - sizzling. I liked Trehan, loved Salem and Morgana, Bettina and Cas were a little bit difficult to like at first, and finally Nix - no matter whether she has many episodes or few depending upon installments in the series - SHE MAKES AN UNFORGETTABLE IMPRESSION EVERY TIME - THAT'S DEFINITELY THE BEST FEMALE CHARACTER IN FANTASY AND PARANORMAL GENRE!
Can't wait to read the next book in the series - I hope it will be featuring Viktor!

Its official!...I have a new smokin' hot fictional boyfriend..Gahh...this book was awesome!...Kresley Cole is da Bomb:)...It was amazing as only she can make it!...with a captivating story, heart stopping action, steamy hot scenes that melt the pages!....and evil immortals plotting and maneuvering toward the Accession....whats not to love...seriously!!!...It was great to see a few people from the IAD series make an appearance/cameo...Im already dying to get the next one:)..."Dacians #1"
