These books have lost their charm for me a bit. There are wonderful parts. The characters are still loveable and funny. The depiction of racism and micro-aggression is great, and Stevens does a good job recreating the atmosphere and setting of the 1930s. There is also great progression from the last book; the trauma of it haunts the main characters. But the mysteries themselves no longer intrigue me. Not because I am an adult and this is a children's book, but more so they are starting to repeat, and this is only the third book.
