Omg !!! She has done it again and with a bang !!

Felicia a lawyer volunteers at a the local crisis centre in the town that she lives in , it’s her way of giving something back .

She takes a call from a young girl who is incredibly distressed and fighting back tears as she tells her of an assault , as a single mother of a son at the same school this resonates with Felicia.

As her relationship with the girl grows and the story unfolds maybe Felicia knows the person who commuted this crime a little more than she first realised ….

Just superb I love Lucinda’s books and this was brilliantly done on auditable it was like you were listening in on the calls very very clever …

What are you waiting for go give it a go you will not regret it .

This story was impactful, I loved it! The audiobook is great; the sound effects were amazing! I just wished it was a bit more thrilling, it felt more like crime than thriller. And I'm not sure how I feel about Felicia almost expecting her son to become a criminal because his father was. I think it's unfair to the child, even if in this case her fear came true.

Intense!

A.J. Cook is an amazing narrator, for her... 5 stars! But the story....ummm... meh. I really enjoyed the writing it was just the story was kind of predictable, and the ending fell flat.

A very quick listen (appx 3 hours) in audiobook format.

A psychological thriller that didn't have a completely absurd twist ending. Thank you, Lucinda Berry!!!

I really felt the MC's angst and worry as the story progressed and the truth emerged. We never get the 'why' and I think that is as realistic as it can be. Who knows why a bad person does the things they do. Sure there are many theories, but in the end, we truly never know why. Are they born bad? Made bad? Who knows.

The narrator, A. J. Cook, was fine, very easy to listen to.

Felicia is a lawyer who volunteers at her local suicide hotline call center. One night she gets a call from a teenage girl who has been through something traumatic. During her call she learns the girl has access to a gun and is considering turning it on herself and possibly others. Felicia also learns the girl is a student at the same private high school her son attends. As the girl scrambles to end the call, Felicia feels compelled to help her so she goes against her training and gives out her personal number. The girl begins calling and texting Felicia from private numbers and shares more and more about the traumatic event that led her to contemplate ending her life. Felicia wants nothing more than to help the girl and uncover the truth.

Man… Lucinda Berry sure knows how to rip your heart out and stomp on it. This was a great audiobook! I am a huge fan of Criminal Minds so I loved listening to the narration by AJ Cook.
