Yes, this was predictable, quick read
The mom was naive and obnoxious, and clearly needs to deal with her own trauma
And I am giving it 5 stars because it asks the hard questions

The narration of this book was the most gut wrenching story I have ever listened to. The most accurate description of a mother’s, conditional unconditional love for a child. I literally feel sick to my stomach now that I have finished listening to this I honestly just don’t even know what to write as a review for this book AJ Cook nailed the narration with the phone calls the text messages and everything. Lucinda Berry has done it yet again, and written an A+ plus book.

This is a hard one to review. 2.75 ⭐️ The narration was great but there wasn’t a twist at all. Just a 4 hour story. Within 10 mins, I already knew how the story was going to unfold. If you’re looking for an easy, quick listen, this is the audiobook for you. Just don’t expect it to be layered with a twist

I just love Lucinda’s books. I can’t get enough of them really. This one really makes you question the whole nature versus nurture theory. Can you do everything right and still your kid ends up being a monster you don’t want to know? SO good. I loved it.

Quick engaging read. Pretty predictable but still interesting.

A cool, quick format. It was predictable but I liked that it didn't try to be a feel good or happy ending; it was just real.

Great and shocking story, entertaining narration („real“ phone calls from the girl).

This was fine. I feel the term thriller is being used a little loosely lately, as I would not consider it a thriller at all, more of a domestic drama. A decent one, just no major twists or turns, nothing terribly exciting but a good story.
