It was a fun read, would have liked it more if I read it in the hunger games period. Right now, it was just cliche after cliche, the plot completely predictable to me. It wish it was breaking me like Akemi's other books, leaving me in pieces glued back together. But this book... Hoping the next book is better, since the last few minutes of the audiobook were the best of the whole story.

fun concept, executed well and with a mind spinning plot twist. so glad the second book came out two days ago so I don’t have to wait to see more of my babies.
definitely recommend, especially if you like the cruel prince or cinder :)

i just was not vibing with this. nami just accepting everything she was told with pretty much no questions irked me, and i just couldn't get into the world. the hundred or so pages i read felt more fantasy flavored than scifi, which isn't a bad thing, but i picked it up wanting more of a scifi story.

This book was so much more than I thought it would be! I usually don't read sci-fi all that much but this story contained the right stuff for me to enjoy it.
The only thing I disliked about this book was the sheer amount of world-building and info dumps that were present within the story. I completely understand why they're there, but it felt like the story was just getting started then it ended (and what an ending it was). Hopefully the next instillation of the series will have less information to cover and more to do with Nami and her role in Infinity instead of the world itself.
I think if you like world building and the thought of skynet- like beings taking over the afterlife then this book is for you.

YA dystopian novel that raises some interesting moral issues. Definitely has the developing love triangle but better than many I have read over the last few years. I will be reading book 2

Fantastic book! If you are unsure pick it up! The twist is amazing and heartbreaking and the only thing I'm upset about is that the next two books I have to wait for!

I received an advance copy of The Infinity Courts from Simon & Schuster Canada via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

The Infinity Courts follows Nami, an 18-year-old girl plotting out her future when she's suddenly and tragically killed. She wakes up in the afterlife, and to her shock, finds it's been corrupted by Ophelia, a Siri-like AI assistant.

The Infinity Courts had a great premise, but ultimately failed to deliver on much of its promise. The concept was intriguing, but ultimately plot proceeded at a glacial place, the characters weren't compelling, and too much of the book was spent inside the main character's head as she grappled endlessly with her own morals. The Infinity Courts could have benefitted from a fast pace and more action in my opinion, in addition to better fleshed out characters.

The book did have some redeeming factors, notably the third act plot twist, which was well-done and surprising. I just wish the whole book had been as compelling as its final chapters.

Really enjoyed this and didn't see the twist at the end. The main character was a bit annoying at times hence why dropped a star.
