This was my first book on a kindle and I loved the experience!! Now for the review of the actual book...

As I mentioned in my review of Mindy's first book [b:Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me?|10335308|Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me? (And Other Concerns)|Mindy Kaling|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1443264638s/10335308.jpg|15237902], I'm not necessarily a "fan" of Mindy Kaling. The only times I've watched The Office I hated it, I think I watched the first few episodes of The Mindy Project before I remembered I'm not one who likes comedy shows, and I don't know anything else she's associated with. That said, I absolutely love her books.

There's something in this book for everyone. There's anecdotes for the die-hard fans, love stories for the romantic, fictiony fun things for those who just want to be entertained, and an inside look at being a Hollywood boss for everyone in between.

This isn't the sort of thing I'd normally give more than 3.5 stars to, but it was just so funny (it takes a lot to make me laugh out loud), endearing, kind, and profound, I could never give it anything less. If you deserve a treat (and you do), pick this up. It's a great read from someone who could be your best friend.

3.5 stars. I enjoyed this! Mindy is funny and I enjoy listening to her read her books, however, this was not as good as the first book and I'm glad I got it from the library. If you enjoyed her first book, I recommend it, but go to the library. Her last essay on confidence is the best part of the book, make sure you read that part!

I wanted to love Mindy’s second collection of essays because I love Mindy in “The Office” and in “The Mindy Project” and I really enjoyed her first book, “Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me?”

Unfortunately, this book was more of a retelling of her first book with a few highlights, such as when she met President Obama and how she embarrassed herself the first time she met Bradley Cooper.

Kaling wants us to believe she’s just like us – someone enamored with celebrities who struggles to lose weight and fall in love with the right person – but it’s hard to believe when she has a pretty glamorous and well-off life. She laments being “dumped” by a female friend who found someone more “in” and how nothing in Hollywood is real, except for the hair extensions. It’s a funny quick read, perfect for summer.

I didn't enjoy this one as much as her first book. I feel like her first book had more to offer with more vulnerability, although I did really appreciate the soup snakes chapter. While this book was still charming comedic Mindy, it was also a little all over the place.

Wonderful book. I laughed out loud in several chapters. Read Tina Fey, Amy Poehler and Amy Schumer's book and I found this to be the best one yet.

Really good, but doesn't sustain to the end. Having said that, Mindy&Sam should be a movie.

I honestly do not know why I picked this audio book. I was traveling and needed something to read from my library's app, and this was about the only thing remotely interesting, so I clicked "borrow". It was surprisingly a pretty funny book, and not at all what I was expecting. It's basically just her talking shit about a lot of stuff, but she's funny so it works. There you go Mindy, a straight guy read your book and enjoyed it. Suck it.
