I can't believe Karen has once again left me desperate for more. I am desperate to know what Barrons is, and I have no idea how Mac is going to survive the cliffhanger of the novel. That was a horrible thing to do to the main character. Unless it makes Barrons sympathetic??? I want them together really badly. If it doesn't happen I am going to be very annoyed.

I actually listened to this on audiobook (my first) and it was really funny in parts because of the different accents the woman puts on. I think it made it even more enjoyable for me, especially with all the strange pronunciations. I can now say all the words properly. I never pictured Mac having a southern accent either which was even more amusing. I now picture Scarlett O'hara haha

Oh nooo

Ahhh it's getting even better poor Mac and damn Jericó! I'm about to start the next one! Uh it's so good

ORIGINAL REVIEW (8/10/2011):
ORIGINAL RATING (5 STARS)

Phew! Cliffhanger much?

As Mac continues to search for the Sinsar Dubh in this book, she is surrounded by those she doesn't know if she should trust or not. Everyone wants her for one reason or another and she just doesn't know where her loyalties should lie. In a dark world that seems to be collapsing in on itself, it's hard to define who your enemies are. Lies become an ordinary thing and secrets are held close to the chest (for as long as they're able).

This third book in the Fever series was just as exciting as Bloodfever. More questions pile up without much being answered, but that's part of the fun, right? It's the mystery of it. Who's good? Who's evil? Who's truly on Mac's side and who's just trying to use her? There are so many questions and so many mysteries and almost none of them were solved. But that's okay. There were some tidbits here and there that we get that are like little puzzle pieces to try and fit into the larger scheme of things.

I like Barrons even more now. I'm not sure why. He's still a jackass a lot of the time. But, for some reason he's growing on me. I feel like there's reasons for the things he does and that those reasons will come into the light one day. I'm not really surprised to say that my theory on Barrons has changed as well. Keep in mind that this is just my theory and nothing more:

Okay, I now think that Barrons might be the Unseelie King. It would explain many things: why the Unseelie and Shades are afraid of him, why V'lane and him are enemies, why he is so powerful and strong, why he is hiding what he is from Mac, why he could touch the spear (because V'lane said only the Seelie Queen and Unseelie King could touch the objects from the other's court), why he is looking for the book to begin with, why he is scared of his feelings for Mac (given what V'lane told us about the Unseelie King and the mortal woman from before), how old he is, why he can use the Voice, etc. I'm sure there's more, but that's all I can think of at the moment. But that's a lot of things! So that's where my theory on him stands as of now. If you know if I'm right or wrong, don't tell me though! lol

Overall, this is just a fantastic series. I can't say that I'm sad I didn't start it until now though. Since Shadowfever just came out earlier this year, I'm happy I won't have to wait to continue reading the series. Although I didn't plan on reading Dreamfever right after this, I think I might have to with that ending!

Finally some action!
Mac meets up with Rowana and her group of protégés. V'lane gives Mac his name to use in need. Barrons- yeah it just more intense. Christian just seems so shady.
And then there is Halloween.
That ending- oh yes!

In one of those I-can't-stop-reading-this-book moments, I stayed up all night finishing Faefever. It's addictive, there are no other words for Moning's talent and story.

Faefever drags you back into the Fever universe and, if you're like me reading all the books ontop of each other, it's hard to distance yourself from one book and the next. The story was an intense as normal, although I was less afraid of the dark this time around. I think the invention of MacHalo gave me hope.

A hell of a lot happens in Faefever, and I'm still trying to wrap my mind around it. Like the previous books, Mac's surrounded by people who want to use her special powers to go after the Sinsar Dubh. It annoyed me that she still didn't seem to trust Barrons or V'lane. I understand that they're keeping things from her. No-one wanted her to keep secrets and yet everyone managed to keep secrets from her. But at the same time, both V'lane and Barrons have done everything in their power to keep her safe. No wonder they both get angry when she withholds information. However, the drama with chasing the Sinsar Dubh escalated, and I'm glad to see there were changes to Mac and her reactions to OOPs.

My previous suspicions about Barrons still haven't changed. I, like Mac, don't think he's completely human. Everytime I think I've worked out who or what he is something changes my mind. I feel whoever he is has something to do with the 'Z' in his name (since it's also part of Mac's and his tattoos). But I guess I'm not enough of a detective to work it out.

My hatred of Rowena and the Order is growing (minus Dani, who is super cool). I don't know why Mac keeps wanting to go back to them, but that's her choice not mine.

The ending shocked me. What a cliff hanger. Never imagined any of the last 70-ish pages would happen.

5/5 stars and a desperate need for the next book.

Once upon a time there was a girl who had never even heard of the Fever series. Then a long come Goodreads and a friend who calls herself Mrs Barron's. 'poor woman is deluded' The girl told herself when Mrs B HOUNDED yes hounded her to read the series and that she'd love it & JZB. Turns out Mrs D Barron's wasn't deluded at all & she was right, the series is EPIC.
It just keeps going from strength to strength, each book draws me in deeper & I can't seem to get enough.
I love & adore Mac. I wasn't sure at the start what all the fuss about Barron's was but the further along I go the more I understand. I wasn't meant to fall in love with him straight away, it's supposed to just sneak up on me out of the blue that I can't live without him.
But even if there wasn't a possibility of romance I don't think I'd really mind as the actual story itself is so strong and has me utterly & totally absorbed & needing to know what the hell is going to happen next!
I'm hoping we get to see a bit more of Dani in the next installment as I am really liking her as a character.
Overall again I find myself not been able to resist the lure of diving into the next in the series Dreamfever, because
1. Oh My God what the hell is happening to Mac & how has it all gone horribley wrong &
2. WHAT THE HELL IS BARRON'S!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
