Well, that does it. I didn't think it was possible to be anymore addicted to the Fever series than I already was, but...Oh Man. Karen Marie Moning just made it impossible for me to put down this series long enough to write a review. Talk about a cliffhanger of all cliffhangers. This is one of the reasons I am frequently ecstatic that I am late to the game...no waiting on sequels!

I have completed the series and some might disagree, but I believe Faefever is the darkest, most entrancing book in this phenomenal series. It is the perfect pinnacle for center-stage, if you will. If things could get any worse, I am not sure how...short of killing off everyone - which would not set well for the third of a five book series. Ms. Moning does promise this series is about discovering the light; however, this book will leave you doubting that promise and many other things.

Mac begins receiving pages of Alina's journal at Barrons Books and Baubles, leading her to believe that her sister was actually in love with the Lord Master. Is it possible that he returned that love? Hmmm... Things in Dublin are only getting worse...the Sinsar Dubh is on the move, and most disturbing of all is its mode of transportation. Mac has added two more protectors to her list...Christian MacKeltar and Dreamy-Eyed-Guy. Two more men she ends up trying to answer to...for good or bad. V'lane is still hanging around, amping up Mac's libido. Barrons is still Barrons...attempting to conceal his true identity and his feelings for Ms. Lane. The sexual tension in this book is at an all time high. Oh - and did I mention the world as we know it rests in the hands of Barrons, Christian, and Mac?

Faefever is my favorite of the first three books. You will just have to keep coming back and read my reviews for Dreamfever and Shadowfever to discover which of the books is my absolute favorite...or you may already know?!?!

Offf çok güzeldi! Cidden!

I think I have 36 books checked out from the library (okay, half of them are for a project, but still) and yet when this one showed up on the hold shelf last night, I took it home and read it. Am I proud of that? No. I feel the same way about these books as I feel about smores pop tarts. Man, do I LOVE smores pop tarts. Mister BS knows this, and one time purchased some at the store for me. "I know you love these, but you never get them, and I thought you could use a treat," he said. What he didn't understand is that I lose all self control when there are smores pop tarts in the house, and I can eat nothing else until the box is gone. So I hate them in a day and a half just like I read this book in a day and a half. Yes, this book is empty calories. And sometimes you just need to indulge.

Now I am craving smores pop tarts.

It keeps you guessing to the last second. This book was amazing.

Okay, so, I'm irritated.

These are not YA books, right? My library didn't mislabel them? Maybe the author made a few mistakes, sticking in bits about orgasms and sex-by-death beings, and fucking and petunia?!

Why does she have to do this? Why can't Mac just fight and battle? There can't be a war waging between Barrons and V'Lane over her abilities without their being lust and jealousy? REALLY?!

A little bit, I would be okay with. But for fuck's sake, every time I started getting excited about the action, there were bikinis and tongues being shoved down throats. GROW UP, KAREN MONING.

Kicking all of those parts out of the book, I have two chapters left. Which I loved and adored. The build-up to Halloween was fabulous. I was worried they were going to get the walls up and I was going to be left with a big doughnut hole of anticipation.

When the power went out in the entire city, I had to go back to work, and I shrieked with irritation. Excellent, excellent twist.

The ending was...intriguing. I do not recall any of this foreshadowing, so I suppose someone whose read the books multiple times would need to point it out to me.

I've got a pile of books to read, so I won't get to the next one for awhile. But I'm interested.

MY EYES THEY BURN FROM READING TO FAST. CAN'T STOP.

Nothing much happened in book 2, and in book 3, nothing much continues to happen. Even though a lot happens in this book. It's weird. And I was looking forward to shit actually happening, but it happened in the most uninteresting ways possible.
Mac only acts when someone else forces her to, which is pretty lame for someone who's supposed to be super special and find the McGuffin that saves the world. Barrons and the Sex Fae push her around and abuse her, and she lets them, complains about it in her endless inner monologue, then decides not to ally with one of the other factions and stays with the two assholes instead. Because that's what women who constantly (and annoyingly) think about how mature, strong, etc. they've become do. At this point, she's just gaslighting herself to make it easier for the guys. But they're both hot, so it's okay.

Her inner monologue is the most annoying thing. She thinks through every situation from every angle and explains in detail every possible meaning of events, actions and words of the other characters, only to come to the stupidest conclusions and not act on anything. Because she goes through every possible option, she occasionally has a coherent and actually smart thought (for example, that the two powerful, abusive guys are probably not trustworthy), but then decides not to act on it. She tries to keep everything she knows a secret from them (they ignore her efforts, of course), while still expecting them to work with her or help her, and without a plan B for how to save the world.

I have no idea why I continue with this series.
Maybe it's because I've been promised it's going to get better, no, really good, and at this point I've invested so much time that I want that payoff, or at least the right to complain about how I've been misled.
Maybe it's because I've got a lot of work to do around the flat at the moment and I need something in the background that I can ignore for 30 minutes while I concentrate on something else without missing anything important.
What I'm trying to say is that I wouldn't actively sit down and read this book. Or listen to it while running/cycling.
