I liked it. The end was really intriguing, and I couldn’t put it down. In my opinion, the premise started to get a little bit less interesting as the book went on. It was getting kind of clear that none of the authors were guilty of the murder . But it was still a fun time, if a little ordinary.

Sadly, not as good as the first in the series. It was about half way through before things really picked up and I found Ernest grating in this one. Also I totally agree with Juliette, he was full of himself at certain moments.

Recommended in The Washington Post.
The conceit is that the author is writing about his current experiences, which just happen to be a mysterious murder during a Mystery Writers Convention on a train in the middle of nowhere, Australia. He helpfully tells us about how and when he'll introduce characters, clues, and red herrings, and then proceeds to do so. It is okay entertainment, but not as deviously interesting as better mysteries.

Good craic. About what you'd expect from a mystery. Not one a reader is likely to figure out as it's less building a case more gathering clues then BOOM solved. So about what you'd expect from a mystery.
The scene where Royce is trying to announce who the killer is while everyone slags the shit out of him is one of the funniest things I've ever read. Highlight of the book.
Effie Trinket should play Simone in the movie please.
Also there has to be at least one review on here that's just the word ghastly

I loved the first book but this one....kind of fell flat for me. I liked it, it had its funny moments and the mystery was fun but overall....I didnt care unfortunately.
