To me this book was boring!

I think younger readers might like it but to me, it was not interesting enough.
I felt like nothing happened. The romance has been done before and I think I'm getting more pickier when it comes to YA fantasy. Simply just not a book for me.

I love this book so much I've reread it 3 times already and I cannot get enough of these characters. All the books in this series are amazing!!

I started this book with high expectations. When I bought this, half a year ago, it sounded like the kind of book and story that I'd most certainly enjoy. And I do have to admit that at the moment it's not that easy to actually surprise and wow me, but it wasn't just that that made me slightly disappointed in this book.

There is a lot of potential. The two worlds could be quite interesting if we would actually get to see more of them. I don't get the feeling we've really interacted with the people or tasted the culture, while that would truly add to the story and make the world more alive instead of just something we hear and read about, but never truly get to experience.

The same goes for the characters. There are some interesting glimpses there, especially Leif and the King have a certain kind of charm that I would have loved to see more of, but in general the characters are a bit flat and lack depth. Apart from that I personally had some issues with Cohen and couldn't quite like him at all. That might have made it hard to buy the love story. I couldn't come up with a reason for Britt to love Cohen and I didn't really feel any chemistry between them.

Then what kept me reading and what will make me read the other two books? The magic and the mystery. Even though most of the times the characters were just traveling from A to B and not doing much, there were just enough hints and there was just enough information to keep me interested and to keep me going. And on top of that it was an easy and quick read. The writing style wasn't really unique or standing out, but at least it was simple, which was nice for a change.

I hope that maybe the next book might surprise me, but my expectations aren't that high anymore.

Enjoyable buuuut...Britta...

She was quite annoying and a very "woe is me" type of character. Which I don't mind to a certain point! But the entire book I was just kinda disconnected from her I didn't feel close to her enough by the end of the book...if that makes any sense.

The idea of a girl hunter being hunted sounded awesome. Made me reminisce about Katniss but Britta is no Ms. Everdeen. Maybe she has the potential to be if she gains an actual backbone in the sequel but we'll see.

Speaking of sequel...this one is expected to be released, I believe, by the end of the year it might be one of those that I hold off on for a little due to the fact that this was an okay book I'm not jumping up and down ants in my pants excited for.

Man I really wanted to enjoy this book. I just felt like there wasn’t a lot of action and the mystery took forever to unravel. On top of that, the climax felt very rushed and last minute.
