An easy read and a good reminder of the importance of non-judgement and kindness. 3 stars because it was a good, but not great, heartwarming story of friendship.

Much sadder/depressing than anticipated. First book for a book club so I stuck with it but it was tough at times. So much sorrow and frank need, neglect, drug use, and abuse. Heavy stuff. Reader beware!

I liked it, but really I wish there was a book from Maurices's perspective.

I thought that Schroff did a great job of telling her story and experiences. I feel like she was incredibly respectful of Maurice and her influence in his life.
