Nice, short mystery and love the email/message style so I enjoyed it (as expected)! Tidy end too and reasonably light-hearted as Christmassy

Very interesting.

I very much enjoyed the style of writing: messages and emails etc. It was something different and allowed an insight into many different characters lives. I was able to read it in one sitting.

The only problem I have with this story is
how lightly the Dexters got away. I would have liked to see their characters and story developed more.
Perhaps, however, this is another story for another book.

Overall, a solid, entertaining and oftentimes funny read.

Fun fast paced book but the ending was so underwhelming!

A nice little amuse-bouche of a story for Christmas and accompaniment to the original.

It's much more overtly comedic than the original. The original was a murder mystery with lightly comic elements, while this was a comedy with light murder mystery elements and better for it.

A lovely festive update to The Appeal. As with other books by this author, this is a clever and well plotted mini novel. Bits of it are properly laugh out loud funny.

A short, funny clever story perfect for the run up to Christmas.

This was a really fun, read-in-one-day-while-alone-at-work kind of book. As always, Hallett's books fly by and the subtle power moves/gossiping in emails is always fun.

I kind of guessed there was a body in the beanstalk but it being Joyce's abusive first husband was surprising.

I just had a great time.

I really enjoyed this. It was fast paced and the style was done through emails/text messages & interviews. I didnt work out the whole who dunnit element either. A nice combination of Christmas and murder. Plus it is fairly funny too!
