I am OBSESSED with this series! I love the way they have continued on their journey and that Riva didn't forgive them all quickly for what they put her through. I appreciate the realistic nature of that dynamic. The character growth was good, and I look forward to how they continue to grow in book 3. The world building continues to be great as well. Riva learned some very valuable lessons and rightfully doesn't know who she should trust outside of her 4 men. The cliffhanger got me so good. Is that who I think it is? I can't wait to read the next one come February!
As always, my heat rating is not based on how well it was written. My heat rating is based on the times of occurence, the length of the scenes, and how filthy/unconventional. There are more scenes in this than in Book 1, which only had 1. The FMC has multiple partners. Other than multiple partners, the scenes are very vanilla. 3/5

Ah che bello che è stato questo ♥ Ho adorato Jake, anche se avrei dovuto odiarlo. Mi sono piaciuti tutti i personaggi. Vedere la loro crescita e presa di coscienza mi ha coinvolta tanto. La trama è abbastanza semplice, ma riesce comunque a coinvolgere.

I was very much looking forward to this book and I definitely enjoyed it. I am glad that I do not have to wait to long for book 3 because of the cliff hanger. What can I say other than tentacles. There was definitely more spice in book 2 and I hope it is setting the scene for book 3. I am very interested to see where the last book will go after the ending with regards to the facility and the reunion.

i'm HUGE on repentance and reparations and all that, but i feel like Riva is jumping back into her safety net with these men too fast. i also like making men who've done wrong suffer the consequences, but imo they haven't earned her trust or her love yet. that's just me though.
i really want to trust Rollick. like a monstrous sugar daddy ?? c'mon now, i wanna trust him, but i can't. we don't know enough about his intentions yet. i'm with Riva for being cautious of his intentions. like...something ain't right, even if it ain't all the way wrong, yk??
but overrall, i loved the continuation in this series. i have even more questions because of the glimpses of shit we got at the end. with Zee and IS THAT MF GRIFFIN ALIVE??? istg if he's been turned against them like the guardians turned the boys against Riva i'm gonna lose it. we were making progress to peace for my woman!! GIVE HER A FUCKING BREAK!! i also have a strong feeling that Kudzu (?) may have snitched on them cause he's pissed that Cinder is dead and Rollick is working with hybrids. i can't wrap my head around it all yet, but SOMEONE GET MY WOMAN TO SAFETY IMMEDIATELY OR I'M GONNA LOSE IT!
the bottom line is, one way or another, my babies are being screwed over left and right and i'm gonna get to the bottom of it!

Monstrous Power by Eva Chase is an urban fantasy romance that I listened to on audio narrated by Amber Lee Connors and Adam Gold. This is the second book in the Shadowblood Souls series.
I love Eva's books! I was pulled in from the first chapter and couldn't wait to see what was going to happen next. I am really enjoying the relationship between Riva, Jacob, Zian, Andreas, and Dominic. It is extremely messy and complicated since she walked back into their lives. But I can't help but root for them. I can't wait to see how it will continue to progress over the course of the series. I really enjoyed getting all of their points of views throughout the book. It really brought the story to life.
The book ended on another amazing cliffhanger that left me begging for more. I can't wait to jump into the next book in the series Captured Fate.
Amber and Adam did an amazing job on the narration. They both really know how to bring a story to life. I look forward to listening to more of their work in the future.
