This is a book geared towards younger readers but even still it was quite silly. There were sweet moments and some interesting parts with Kiki learning new things. But a lot of it felt like the author was just making things up as they went along. Many choices didn't feel purposeful at all. I didn't really care for the narration style either

I don't think anybody that knows me is surprised that this was a five star book for me.  I adored the movie adaptation. And although the novel didn't take the path I had been hoping it would take, it wasn't disappointing to me that it had taken a different path. I highly recommend this if you like fantasy mixed with slice of life.
