This was an odd book with an interesting twist at the end. I'm definitely going to be referring to certain situations as "what in the Ethan Frome thing is this?"

honestly a great book, little bit creepy that he married his cousin and then fell in love with her cousin…
anyways i giggle every time i see this very serious and depressing book in between my bookshelf of rom coms

Wow- what a wild re-reading experience. I remember just loving this book in high school, but reading it now...the story is pretty morbid in ways I didn't see (how did I not see them?!?!), and I sympathized way less with Ethan Frome. That said, it did keep my attention and paint quite the vivid picture of a sober, bleak household.

Uh, beautiful language, but I guess I'm just not in the mood for Winter anymore.

some beautiful prose but mostly just not it for me
