I highly recommend this book. It deals with a difficult, almost impossible, emotive dilemma in a balanced, thought-provoking way. Meticulously researched and well-written. Real, flawed characters. I can't imagine this being done better.

Not for me. My bookclub weren’t really ‘taken’ with it either. For me it was because I couldn’t warm to any of the characters and the only other book with a similar theme ‘the argument from both sides’ was The Slap, and I couldn’t get into that, they just don’t hold my interest. I love debate, but not in fiction.
