Ouch that one gets you right where it hurts.

Beautiful story about the bond between a boy and his fox. Lots of mature themes - death, war, abuse - that I would suggest reading along with your kids if they are younger than 10.
I'm doing an author study in Sandy's 4th grade class on Sara Pennypacker, so reading everything I can by this author in preparation.

This isn't what I thought it was going to be--I was picturing a One and Only Ivan or something, but with a fox. It's a very thoughtful book--not one I'd give to every kid, but one I think will stick with the right kid.

An OK story, hard to wrap my mind around some of the story, but I guess that is the point of some books!!
