This book was just as good as the first two ones in the series. The only negative I can say about Breathless is that we got almost no Carter and Aria, but I really hope that gets redeemed in the last book.

As always the relationship between Carter and Aria is complex as ever, with both of them simultaneously loving and hating each other. We got to see a lot of Carters emotions in this book, with him loving Aria while knowing that he'll lose her love when he inevitably kills her father and the rest of her family.

I will say I didn't expect the full blown open fire that we got in the end. Also, Aria got fucking kidnapped. I cannot wait to see the full force of Carter's rage and what lengths he'll go to to get Aria back.

Starting right where Heartless left off...

Aria struggles with loving Carter and wanting to be with him, but also wanting to protect her family. This puts a damper on their growing relationship and leaves Aria broken. The events that take place in the very begging are alluring and leave your chest pounding. Eventually, Carter is able to calm down; however, their love is subduing and is becoming vacant. The duration of Breathless take place away from Carter and focuses on the friendship growth between Aria and Addison. I found this book to be very heartfelt and heavy. The war is still going to happen and is hot and heavy during this book. In the end you are left on a cliffhanger with still no HEA.

Willow Winter's has a way of making you feel true heartache!! UGH, this series is SO GOOD!!

Okay, so Breathless picked up right where book 2 ended and everything is still intense and kept me glued to the pages in this book. This series is one that needs to be read in order, because the order does matter.

I am loving that Aria is finally growing stronger and standing up for herself and proving that she isn’t fragile and naive. She is struggling with her actions towards Carter in the book and then she tells Carter that she would try to be with Nikolai if he was gone and Carter can’t get that out of his mind.

Carter can’t admit how much he truckers for Aria, he just keeps thinking that she’s his enemy in this war and that he will lose her in the end.

Hearts on the edge to see what will happen in the last book.

So many problems with this book - the abuse themes, the poor editing, the slow middle - and yet I really loved it. Looking forward to the next in the series.
