Definitely different to my usual type of read but my partner picked this up fr a ‘holiday book swap’ and tbf i quite enjoyed it, I struggled to put it down because i just needed to know how it ended.

I read this and Hostage within a few weeks of each other, and while Clare McIntosh is the better writer, I enjoyed this in the end. Unbelievable and trite at times, but the flight attendant stuff rang true (no wonder given the author's background) and I enjoyed Jo and Big Daddy as characters. Probably my last thriller for awhile, but I needed something fun and mindless, and this fit the bill.

I've read Newman's books out of order. This is the first, and I read it last (of her 3 current releases). I feel like her later books really amp up the body count and the in-depth descriptions of physical trauma, and I didn't miss either here. There was still plenty of action and intensity.

The multiple POVs unfolding are easy to follow and make sense to the story—except for

the part where Yankee Stadium was the final target. The players deciding to continue the game—and winning!—

felt out of place, and I skimmed those sections to get back to the action.

I loved this one.  I could feel the anxiety bubbling inside me with every chapter!  I thought it was really well done and can’t wait to read their other books.  Definitely recommend!
