Despite the negative reviews, I actually really enjoyed this one. At times it did felt a lot like Insta love, going from “I am just attracted to her” to “I’m in love with her”. I would have liked to see a chapter or two about the launch of shameless and how everyone reacted to it, as well as clara’s confrontation with her family and what happened with Jill that Christmas. I wouldn’t have minded the book being a 100 page longer just to incorporate that.

No offence but I’ve seen better chemistry on a science teachers lesson plan

3/5 stars rounded up.

This one is steamy and I loved that. But there was a lot going on and a lot of different storylines or quirks that we were meant to remember. Something would happen, and I would have to think “oh yeah I guess the author did mention that off hand 1/2 a book ago…” so that was tough to keep track of.

A bit insta-lovey, third act break up was annoying. Female MC’s childish pining was overdone. But overall I loved the sex positivity, the plot line of fighting for sex workers’ rights, and the satisfying finish

4.5 Stars!

A perfect example of “don’t judge a book by its cover” lol

Absolutely LOVED this one! I didn’t read the premise so I was pleasantly surprised that this was so much more than just roommates falling for each other. The way it focused so much on the sex worker industry and changing it for the better was super refreshing. A lot of romances I read still have backwards versions of sex, with the male gaze still in mind. It’s unsurprising but still disappointing. This went the COMPLETE opposite route which was lovely!

On top of all that the build between the two of them was perfectly paced. It was both a slow burn falling in love, but also plenty plenty smutty. Definitely not a book for the faint of heart, but also none of the sex felt forced like a lot of smutty books. Often after like the third sex scene I’m like ok but is there more to this?? This book absolutely wasn’t that! There was depth with the smut! Totally a fan.

If you’re a romance lover, I’d check this one out.

It didn’t really go where I was expecting it to go but I enjoyed it. Not sure how memorable it’ll be.

This book was sex friendly for sure! Clara (who is more sexually reserved) is the new roommate for Josh who is… (wait for it) a porn star. This book was funny, cute, and sexy rapped up into one steamy rom-com. I wasn’t sure how this was going to play out with Josh’s job/background, but Rosie Danan cleverly wrote the sex industry into something relatable without the “ick” factor. I thoroughly enjoyed listening to this duel POV narrated by Brittany Presley and Teddy Hamilton.
