slow-paced

the summary of this book does a bad job preparing you for what it’s about. it contains graphic descriptions of child abuse which really threw me off. it’s also incredibly violent.

the characters felt flat. there were too many to really connect with them all. i kept forgetting who was who. none of the things that i thought were foreshadowing ended up being important. if there is any foreshadowing, its so subtle i missed it completely. the perpetrator is someone who is never mentioned up until they are revealed.

I don't know where to begin with this one.
I was not in love with the book. When it is all said and done, the book was just okay for me.

Understanding the topic at hand, idk it just didn't do it for me.
