I had a hard time rating this book. It was a really hard book to get through at times because it was so graphic, but I don’t think the hard parts are there just for the shock factor like some books.

And. It is AMAZINGLY well written. I have never listened to a murder book that was so beautifully written before. The author has a rare gift for turn of phrase. I often found myself audably sighing or gasping when I heard a good line.

I listened to the audiobook and good gracious, I could listen to Adam Lazzare-White read his grocery list and be enraptured. What a gift he has.

A dark story, but a well written mystery and kept my interest all the way. Recommend if you like thrillers in the deep south.
