Since now is the time to post this one (according to the rules on Netgalley):

I received this book from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

Wow, just wow. This book was super adorable and really lovely. I loved the girl, I loved the dog, and the illustrations were really interesting and looked nice.

Why interesting? Well because the background is mostly just black lines, no colour at all. Houses are just drawn, but not coloured or have much details, but, BUT, the characters, trees, several others things are in colour, and they just jump out of the book.

Also, wonderful font chosen for this book, it was really nice and friendly to the eyes.

I also really liked the story. The girl tries to make a magnificent thing, but it won't work, no matter how many things she makes, how much she tries. She explodes, takes a break and then, BOOM inspiration and she sees clearly. What is the magnificent thing? Well you will just have to read this adorable book. I will promise, you won't be disappointed. :)

Thanks Netgalley and the publisher there who allowed me to read this book.

Great story about perseverance with ideas! Kids will love the sidekick and girl, and will certainly identify with the message of persistence. Adorable illustrations and great theme - a solid pick to read aloud in the classroom.

I love this adorable children’s book! It shows kids to use their imagination and work through ideas. It also shows that failure and frustration are natural, and it’s ok to feel that way. Yet it reminds them not to give up! Great illustrations too!

Thank you netgalley for this ARC in exchange for an honest review!

A sweet story of perseverance, a girl and her assistant dog work to build the thing in her head. A great book with a strong female character using tools and building. I do wish the girl had a name, while I suppose nameless readers might be able to project themselves onto her, but most little readers I know like to befriend their characters, and without a name, that might be hard.

This is a great little story about a girl trying to make something by herself. She starts off excited and confident and when it doesn't work out the first time she keeps trying. Until eventually she is overwhelmed with frustration and must take a walk. She discovers the walk has helped clear her mind and that she can learn something from all her mistakes. Somewhere in there is the correct path and by trying one more time, she succeeds.
This is a great little story for young readers about the importance of trying again even when you fail, and also how to deal with frustration when it gets to be too much.

I love this book. It’s a story of a girl who decides to make something wonderful with her assistant (her dog). Each thing she makes isn’t as perfect as she wanted it to be and she keeps starting over. She takes a break and takes a walk but when she comes back she realizes each thing she made was pretty special on its own.

This is a great story about innovation, perseverance, and determination. Kids will love the colorful character illustrations on a black and white background. This will be a good addition to my school library.

I received a copy of this title from Net Gallery in exchange for an honest review.

The little girl and dog in this story are a wonderful duo! The illustrations accurately capture their expressions of frustration, determination, & joy. This is a witty and sweet story of the happiness you feel after you persevere through frustration and finally find success.

I love that the story starts off by describing the main character as a regular girl who simply likes to create things. Her dog is her sidekick and partner.

The Most Magnificent Thing was just what the book title implied; it was magnificent. I loved this story. It was simple, yet very well done. I read it to my children, and we had a wonderful discussion about some of the lessons conveyed in the book. The illustrations and the story content communicated a message regarding the importance of resourcefulness, perseverance, and having a spirit of ingenuity. It also presented a lesson on challenges. This book was imaginative, encouraging and downright cute. It gets two thumbs up plus a golden star from this reviewer.
